Our Deli Menu

Our deli is the best kept secret in Asheville.  Creative & delicious sandwiches, soups, and salads made with organic, local ingredients, from scratch. We’ll make it just the way you like it. Sit inside and relax or enjoy your food out front under our shade tree! Call ahead if you’re in a hurry. Just give us 10 minutes and we’ll have it ready.

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner…

Burritos are out at 8am.  Our window opens daily at 10 for sandwiches to order and closes at 6. Soups are available by 11:30 and stay out til 9pm. And the Grab and Go case is always stocked with sandwiches, salads and snacks.

Vegan? We’ve got you covered… How does this sound? Our signature Barley-corn salad, No Evil Foods vegan chorizo, organic black beans, organic sweet potato, organic salsa and a healthy topping of Vegenaise, wrapped in a flour tortilla.

And for the NON-VEGANS, freshly scrambled organic eggs,  tossed with organic black beans, NC hoop cheese and organic garlic cilantro salsa, wrapped in a flour tortilla. Just the right amount to fill you up and give you the energy you need to start your day.  Also available with Hickory Nut Gap sausage or Garrett Valley thick-cut all-natural bacon.

Soup of the Day: 

Two homemade soups every day, made with our own organic produce as the main ingredients.  One vegan.

Sandwiches

Choose from a creative selection of specialty vegetarian and meat sandwiches, or, build your own. All meat sandwiches are made with all-natural Dietz and Watson and Applegate meats and cheeses. Our tempeh and tofu are organic.  We use local organic breads, all-natural wraps, house-made non-dairy spreads, organic greens, and – as much as possible – organic veggies. All are served with a pickle, and can be grilled to order or served cold.   Here’s just a sampling of our sandwiches…

  • Tempeh so Asheville! Grilled tempeh smeared with avocado and layered with roasted red peppers, banana pepper rings & red onions, topped with pesto mayo, Havarti dill and fresh leaf lettuce – made on your choice of bread.  Then grilled on the panini press.
  • Roasted Turkey & Swiss, with Berry Best Jam from Imladris Farm, with organic spinach on whole wheat bread.
  • Tofu Salad (the best you’ve ever tasted) on Annie’s Bakery organic multi-grain bread. Or get the salad by the pound.
  • Reubens! Turkey, Tempeh, Corned Beef or Pastrami. Get it grilled on our panini press.

Always a creative variety of protein, grain and veggie salads made in-house with the same beautiful organic produce that you see in our produce case. Select from our Grab & Go case or from our deli window, by the pound. Our staples include:

INDIAN FOOD

Every Wednesday and Friday

We prepare a simple and delicious Indian buffet – organic jasmine or basmati rice with 2 main dish sides; usually a curry, usually a spicy dish… always fresh, interesting and great.

Green Salads

We keep a rotating selection of fresh, organic green salads.  Greek is pictured.  Another house favorite is our Cranberry Walnut with Goat cheese and Balsamic Vinaigrette.

Farmacy Juice and Tonic Bar

The “Farmacy” Juice and Tonic Bar is a venue to experience health promoting juices, tonics, elixirs, and enzyme rich raw and living foods. In addition, the “Farmacy” aims to create a healthy, diverse, community space for education, conversation and networking. We offer fresh organic juices, smoothies, soups, tonics, as well as classes, cleanse packages, and consultations based on the living foods lifestyle philosophy.
